mish-mash friday

It was a long night last night-or should I say, very early morning with delia-so this post is all over the place.  We went out to the farm again and met some family and friends to listen to music last night. There was a beautiful sunset and a rainbow that was so amazing it was silly. I thought sadie was going to have a little seizure she was so excited (I was a lame-o and didn't bring my camera. truly one of the most amazing sunsets I've seen in my life, and I have no images. curses!)

you all know about this book already. .

also-I have been trying to buy these books (okay, need to interrupt my self here to tell you I am typing away and listening to a cat barf somewhere in the house) and can't get the dang chronicle website to work and am getting a bit pissy about it because thay are on sale (40% off, thanks for the tip, karen!) through today only.

and-we found out yesterday were were a bit, um, overdrawn. so that iced latte I bought on my debit card was actually $32, with the fines and all. awesome. but on a better note, I finally scanned all my vintage fabrics here and am so dang excited by this vintage fabric group on fickr, thanks kim and hillary.

Now I need to send links to craftlog's wonderful japanese craftbook site. And, I have been meaning to right about this for a bit. If anyone out there who likes reading ALOT of webblogs is not signed up with some sort of feed site, do it now. My brother told me about this, and I didn't get it, and ignored him (because he is my brother, after all) and now that I have bloglines up, my life has changed. truly, I am serious. It has saved me so much time and I am now able to read 4 times as many blogs (is this a good thing?), and see so much more because I know when sites have been updated and all that. I may be the LAST PERSON out there to do this, but if i get even one of you to try it, I will feel better. Speaking of being the last person to do stuff-how rad is flickr?? It's so fun "seeing" you all over there too! so happy I joined that party (thank you hillary!!)

no, no, I am the last person to sign up to one of those sites as i still haven't... i go to all the sites i like at least 10-15 times a day and hit refresh anyway even when i know for a fact the person is out of town and hasn't posted. it's unexplainable, but it's just the way i do it. :)

ooooh, I hope you were able to get Chronicle's site to work. 40% ends today :(

thanks for the heads up on the sale on the book! I was going to wait for the library to get it, but I think I'll go for it.

Just wanted to mention in regards to RSS feeds: I use the Firefox browser (free to download) which has "live bookmarks" (you can see the latest blog headlines right from your toolbar). You can also check the news, ebay or craiglist this way as well. A total timesaver. OK, internet geek signing off now.

I haven't signed up for any RSS feed thing, but I reagularly read 15 - 20 journals a day...guess I should get on the ball, eh?

Hmmm, I don't even know what RSS feed is. So I guess I'll have to do some more learning. I'll get there eventually. I almost gave up on my blog in the very beginning, because I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to do the links side. Glad I kept at it.

hee. I totally resisted the bloglines too. Tim was all up in my grill to use it and once I gave in I was hooked

hope you can get some sleep soon!

thanks for the book tip, i think this whole week has been mish-mash for me. sucks about the cat and the $32 dollar latte, im pretty sure i have purchased the exact same $32 dollar latte. i know the fees are punishment and all, but does it really make sense to charge someone who is already OUT of money? it makes me so mad! grrr... thanks for the feed site tip, i would love to be able to read more blogs faster, what else is there to do at work?? have a good weekend, hope you have a chance to catch another beautiful sunset on film this time!

I'm going to have to try bloglines. I read so many blogs, I can't even keep them all straight!

last person, gotta try bloglines...

That Chronicle site IS awful, I know -- sometimes it's better if you use html to watch it instead of flash -- I think.

Have you ever done the used books at Amazon? I have done it a lot, saved a lot of money and the books are usually just like new.

...oh, and, I can't even figure out how to use bloglines...

You are NOT the last person to use bloglines, sign up for RSS feeds, etc. I have no idea what any of you are talking about! (But I think I need to find out!)

Love that Little Pea pic. ;)

Amy, those "sunset rainbows" are amazing aren't they? I'm glad you guys got to see one too. I was able to get a picture of one recently, didn't do it justice though. I've never seen anything like this before either, it almost didn't seem real! I posted my pic on my blog, under PEACE RAINBOW...check it out.

THANK YOU for the chronicle heads up. I run Safari at home and it didn't seem to mind my browser. $50 later, I've got 4 desperately wanted books on their way to me, including the Denyse Schmidt book. I had to stop looking or I just would have kept adding stuff to the cart!

BTW, if you don't like bloglines, try kinja.com. For some reason, I find the Kinja page better to use. It's just personal preference, of course. :-)

Thank so much for the bloglines/rss tip! I wasn't sure what rss was until I read your post and decided to investigate. It makes things MUCH easier!
