tie one on - apron from clothes
Here's my apron for this month's Tie One On. It's an old sweater that I felted and cut up. I sort of have a back to school theme going here, and to be perfectly honest, I did make this back in late august for an apron theme (not so fun working with this wool back then) but got distracted by another theme, and so this one went into the "save" pile. It was really fun to make and quite sassy on. Perfect to keep legs warm over a plaid pleated skirt (this is for me, not for Sadie, so I am wearing the plaid skirt in this scenario.)
And a handy pocket for taking notes. There are a couple more photos here.

I love it! It's even got that new outfit after winter break feel! And old desks around for the photo shoot too! Fabulous!

I love it!! fuzzy and warm and not at all practical. I love an apron you're not supposed to cook in! :)

this is so great! i never would have thought to do a wool apron, but i would totally wear this. it goes with the wool hat and fingerless gloves i wear around the house (i'm a little stingy with the heat).

It's a wonderful apron and I would love to have it because it's COLD here!

Oooh, it looks so soft and cozy! I never would have thought of that either, but what a great idea! I'm sure this would be incredibly functional in Alaska!

I like the look of this...but it's not practical right?
I'm not really an apron wearer, anymore. I grew up that way. Mom and daughter aprons that grandma made to match hers...wish I had those.
I need to TIE ONE ON!!

Amy,
The sweater apron is so pretty!
I love poking around your blog and your Flicker.
I love your quilts and postcards and was wondering if you would consider
swapping One postcard for an apron pattern I have that is vintage.
I'd like to keep it a surprise and not know what card you choose and I know
you don't have this vintage apron pattern posted on Flickr yet ( so it will be a surprise on
your end too)
If you would like to swap a postcard for a pattern, please send me your
address and I will mail it out right away.
Thank You for having such a great blog.
