thank you!! and a brain dump
Wow!! Wow! Thank you all so much! God, I felt so great yesterday-floating on air. Heck, I still feel great! The whole process has been so exciting/nerve wracking/worry producing/and wonderful all mixed up in a huge bag. I was nervous to put it all out there yesterday, you all are so awesome. So, again, thank you.
I finally got around to framing the Mailorder #5 cross-stitch sampler. I didn't use glass, and I am very happy with that decision-having no glare is really nice. The amazing painting above is Camilla's, of course, and the one peeking out from the other room is an older one of mine, "Friendly Squid."
Okay a few things I can't stop thinking about or looking at:
-helloyarn's terrariums photos on flickr. I heart moss so much.
-these crazy amazing prints from artist, Beci Orpin, that are making my wallet feel lighter by the second. Holy smokes, can't stop looking at them.
-the fabric collection, Nell's flower shop, by Moda, which has some cute cross-stitch cheater cloths and a very cool linen/cotton blend solid color collection-I saw all this at Fabric Depot about 4 weeks ago, and I bought none. Why?? I see Miss Emily snagged some, now that's some good shopping!
-I keep thinking about the movie we netflixed last week, Junebug. loved it so much.
-Why don't they have a drive-thru for pizza by the slice? It's not that messy, I could totally grub it while driving, I really think there is a missed opportunity here.
-so excited to get my hands on these new magnets by the crazy mind of the small object. They are amazing/painful/happy/cute.

morning amy! loved junebug too (and not just for the ylt). did you know that ann wood (http://www.annwood.net/blog/) did all the paintings for that movie? she has a terrarium on her blog right now too...so i felt compelled to mention her.

If someone in this town would just deliver Chinese food without it costing an arm and a leg I'd be happy.
That is ALL it would take, to make me happy.

oooh it has been a while since you have shared links of things driving you crazy. i can see now that my allowance is not going to go nearly as far as i had hoped. that stitchery looks good. damn good.

Oh, wow! Small world with the Junebug paintings, as I absolutely loved those and looked at Ann Wood's terrarium last week. It's gorgeous. She's got some crazy moss in there.
I felt a little sick (in a really, really good way) when I clicked over to Beci Orpin's work. Her work is amazing!

I'm so glad you loved Junebug. I try to push it on everyone I know. Lesser filmmakers would have made villains out of Madeleine or Johnny or the mother but you end up understanding and loving all the characters.

nice-- trying to divert attention away from yourself. and how come we didn't make the ann wood connection the other night? crazy crazy. now we're renting it.

A big congrats from me as well - what a lot of work you have been doing over the past year! Can't wait to see your creation. You're such an inspiration with all that you do!

Oh Alicia, I feel for you folks because we LIVE off of delivery chinese. We have the best place right around the corner, so just come and live in Atlanta okay?
Miss Amy, I had NO idea that "cross stitch cheater cloth" existed. I made a new year's resolution to learn to sew (and maybe even quilt). Your book + cross stitch cloth makes it a moral imperative!
I have not gotten my subscription yet, but I am checking the mailbox every day. I can't wait to get my hands on that pattern!

I am late too on book "congrats" but I did just hop over to Amazon and pre-order. Not sure I can wait till June- it looks SO GOOD! I just picked up sewing again this past summer and books like yours are very valuable to beginners.

Drive through pizza! That's brilliant! I hope some investor is reading this right now. We have drive through pizza hut, but it's not the same. I think the idea here is a real pizza shop. Mom and pop drive tru pizza shop.

I'm a big geek - I named my cat after the movie Junebug. That was easily one of the, hmm...maybe 3 best movies I saw in the theatre when it came out.
Oh, can't wait for the book either!

oh geez! i'm really excited for you, this season of your life in publishing! and junebug is a very nice film, did you know that the artist behind the "outsider" artist in the film is really a woman? her name and site: http://www.estherwatson.com/home.htm
*take care

Do you have a closeup of Friendly Squid? It sounds so cute, and looks just as pretty from what I see. Lots of great links, too!

Moved Junebug up in our queue after you mentioned it. Great movie. I love those ones that you're still thinking about several days after watching it. So, thanks!
