Wow. I am stunned. Your comments have meant so much to me. The personal stories, the well wishes, the empathy, it's all so amazing. Thank you all so much. I can't tell you have much differently I have felt since Monday. I have slept so much better. I don't think I realized, until I wrote about it, just how much I was holding in. So, I thank you so very very much.

Okay, I got out the Kleenex, and I will now compose myself and move on to crafty stuff. Sniff. Sniff.

I have been reluctant to put away this feather tree since Christmas. I made this tree about 5 years ago and it was so hard and took so long, I have decided this year to milk it for all it's worth. So, we made Valentine's Day felt heart ornaments and then will hang eggs on it for Easter. This great fabric on top of the felt is from Superbuzzy.

A few things I have been meaning to link to:

-Sister Diane of Craftypod has this new amazing site listing local Portland classes and events called The DIY Alert. The amount of stuff going on here is mind blowing, as is this site she has set up. I had no idea so much was happening in this town! I need to get out more, obviously.
-Another local link, in Portland this Saturday Feb 3rd only, is the Wurst Gallery Wurstminster Dog Show at the very very new Ace Hotel. I hope to be cool enough and (motivated enough) to get out of the house and go.
-Queenthings has a wonderful new site up for her jewelry. This piece is my favorite. The collection is all very dreamy and the theme is so imaginative. I think everything is sold out now, but please visit anyway, the site is just lovely.

I really love the idea to keep the tree out--it always seems such a shame when all the Christmas stuff is packed up. That valentine ornament is just too cute... ;)

I wouldn't put the tree away either. Next you can hang easter ornaments from it. And then new baby ornaments (I'm sure there must be ornaments for new babies). If you play your cards right you can stretch the tree out to last all year. How great would little ghosts and witches be hanging from it? Oh year, that's definitely a year round tree.

hi Amy
I love the foot, its so weird how each pregnacy is different
I wonder does it colour the baby's personality how we the mothers feel during pregnancy
good luck

The tree looks great with the valentines ornaments. Here is another reason to keep it out. http://www.inspirecompany.com/bico.html

Amy, I've been a longtime follower of your blog, but not a frequent commenter...My mom (http://www.nance-sasser.com/) is showing a really cool painting as part of Jason's Wurstminster Dog Show. I'll be there with kids in tow, thusly dropping my cool quotient in a big way. Oh well.

Congratulations on baby number three, by the way! Whoopee!

I am glad you are feeling a bit better! your tree is amazing.

I just read your last post as well as this one so I have to add a late congrats! what wonderful news. I have been reading your blog for so long now and enjoy it so much. Thanks for sharing! and I can't wait to read about this new chapter in your life (and see what baby crafts you will make!)

Congratulations Amy! Oh, and I love the sweet Valentine tree too!

Oh I'm so jealous of all the crafty fun you have in Portland!! I'm currently living in a super small town and we don't have anything to compare to this!!

I have always wanted to start something of my own up... so maybe now it the time :D

Your holiday tree is fabulous!!!

xoxo,
Jenna Lou

Um missed your previous post and had to check back to see why you were saying thankyou, why you needed the kleenex and well wow what fab news many congratulations. And don't worry about a thing, I was 36 when my youngest was born and I (call me irresponsible if you like but it's the way I was with all my pregnancies) didn't go near a Dr except to say "I'm having a baby, can you book me into maternity?" and everything was fine, perfect little baby boy with all his toes etc in the right place.

I think the tree should stay up and just change decor with the holidays. I have a Lovely Holiday Branch. I am leaving it up and sharing all my decor as the seasons change. I am too in love with it! I am so glad you have slept well. When we hold in things they can creep out in our sleep patterns or even dreams. some bad, some good. Letting things off my chest always help me feel better. Especially when they are as big as a baby? I dreamt of babies all night, a sign? thanks for the links!!

Thank you for the link to Superbuzzy. I've already bought some adorable fabrics. I check your blog all the time and continue to wonder at all the things you manage to do. You are a marvel! Thanks for being an inspiration and keeping me motivated.

I am late in catching up on my reading, but just wanted to shout out a congrats!! I'm due July 11 and COMPLETELY identify with you on all of the freakouts. All will be grand! Can't wait to see all the fun things you (continue to) do!

congratulations! i had my fourth at 35 and he has been the fourth blessing of my life!!

what a beautiful thing - children! They really bring to life the 'sticky stuff' that keeps families together! My "third" child was by way of a remarriage, but it really feels real and complete! May yours be a special blessing too! p.s. my birthday is June 20th and I always look for the fireflys to know when it's about time - maybe you should too! take care

I love all the information you posted around town but at the same time it is quite depressing. I am not so cool anymore. It would be so great to get to the ACE hotel since we have been waiting for it to come to town but we may not be cool enough. This evening for cool we are going to the new OMSI Opening. I never thought we would trade art for science but there is a place for everything.

That is a great use for some of the Superbuzzy fabric I have been hoarding! I have my pink feather tree still up, with walnut strawberry ornaments on it for Valentine's Day, then eggs for Easter and so forth. The neighbor kids think it is wierd though! Congratulations on the new baby!

oh *beam* thank you for your mention amy!

baby 3's footsie is soooo cute. :)

Cute Picture. I love Valentines!
