rick-rack and no crochetin'
Here's my rick-rack apron for Tie One On. . .I made only one, for both girls to share, which is going okay for now. This lovely mod fabric I got from Cia's Palette and I love it so much. I have a little pile of other fabrics from her shop waiting to be made into something, I just am waiting for the right project. . .
The photo shoot here was getting pretty funny. They both have to line up against the wall and have to hold hands and then complain when it's not of all of them. I totally understand. There's about 20 more pics of them hamming it up which is hysterical.
Crafting blog trends, oh how I love them--the doll quilts and now the granny squares (the purl bee have a great tutorial too) I think the granny squares revival has been going on for a bit. . .I got yarn especially for learning how to make these (debbie bliss cashmerino, thank you very much) and that was 3 weeks ago-possibly 4. The yarn hasn't even come out of the bag yet. I was orginally stricken with a crochet illness upon seeing Alicia's squares and now the stunning blanket she has so generously provided the pattern for is hurting me even more. . .and I also find myself thinking, gosh, can't I just BUY it? Bad me. I so badly want to make something crocheted or knitted for baby #3 and the clock is ticking. .
We have a delayed family Easter event tomorrow and I plan to take 2 desserts and hope that they both fit in the 2-level pie carrier basket I got from Grammie. I will report soon on how they turn out and if they fit in the carrier. The potential for disaster makes it all the more exciting.

Love the bright orange rick rack on the beautiful mod green fabric....Adorable!

Be sure to check out the Granny Square Tote Bag in the latest Interweave Crochet magazine - there's a crochet-along for it already going on. Very pretty non-traditional looking granny square makes that bag just to-die-for.

I got the same fabric to make my baby some summer overalls with. I wanted to add a pocket of the same fabric in orange, but they sold out. The apron looks so cute!
Enjoy Easter part deux.

There is something about ric rac- it's just so homey, and flirty and fun!
I can't crochet, I just can't :( I have been stricken with granny square/ripple blanket envy. Seeing such lovelies on Alicia's site makes me sad....sigh...someday...

I have tried to make a different artsy craft for each baby. With our newest addition, I crocheted my first project. I started about 2 or 3 weeks before she came and finished about a month after due to running out of yarn. I have yet to add the embellishments. just today I finished my second ever crochet project - a skirted onesie. Since it took me so long to finish that one up, I have to get started on a bigger size for my nearly three month old little bit! Your apron is adorable - I want to make a few of those for our girls as well.

I love your 'new' blog banner - anything to do with chickens makes me smile (I'm glad she doesn't look too angry!) I agree about the new crafty trends - I'm trying to learn to crochet as well - checked out the Purl Bee tute - and well, we'll see! Must start with nice wool though - I bought some acrylic from an op-shop, but it is awful to use! Cashmere sounds divine!

Cute!! I wanted to take part in the tie-one-on this month but too many other projects going on to jump in I think.. :-(
I saw that tiramasu blanket earlier - it's darling. I love the chocolate ribbon... *sigh*

Cute little apron. I love that tiramisu blanket too. But I'm NOT getting caught up in the granny square thing. No, I'm NOT! :-D

I keep thinking that "one day" I'll join "Tie One On" ... but in the meantime, very cute apron. I particularly love the extra side waist band. Very crisp looking!

First of all, LOVE your sweet stuff and creativity!
I have been a lurker here before but just wanted to pop in to tell you I posted some adorable grannies and ripple afghans tonight. I am NOT pushing for business so please forgive me if it comes across like that but just had to let you know if you are seriously wanting a lovely cozy afghan without the hours of hand work. I can't crochet and may one day regret parting with these treasures but if you could only see my house. *sigh* I need a WAREhouse!!!
Anyway, if you want to take a peek, please do.
Have a great, creative week!
(If this seems too pushy, please delete it. I do not want to offend anyone.)

I love crochet. it's my favourite craft. you can do it ANYWHERE and once you get the stitches down it's EASY. MUCH more satisfying than knitting - because it's so versatile. I'm so glad I learnt. I love sewing too... but I can't do that sitting on a couch unless it's hand sewing.

I love the apron. So cute!

Ha! With me Baby 1 got everything handknitted, embroidered, smocked, quilted - if it was made it was embellished. Baby 2 got a stripy hat.
I stopped there. No doubt if I had a baby 3 I wouldn't even manage to get it dressed of a morning.
Love the aprons and the clasping hand off camera,
J

Firstly, the apron is just completely Sound-of-Music darling, especially with it's big fat waistband, adorable. Secondly, haul buns over here, any night but Friday and we'll get you all dialed in in a jiff, and then you'll be hooking in no time. It goes fast.

The first thing I ever crocheted was a granny square .. used a pattern from a magazine back in the 80's. Sssh .. I'm aging myself, LOL.
