Hi. Do you like what you see here and want to use one of my personal photos? Great! Please shoot me an e-mail and ask me first—especially if you have a commercial site with ads. Thanks!
oooo! I know just the fold you're talking about from those drawings. I did it too way back when. I wish I had my shoe box full of notes I saved from 7/8th grade. Then I could pull it out and reteach myself. Folding notes was at least 3/4 of the fun of note passing. Sadly, that box is tucked away in some corner of my parents' home and I probably wont find it for years. When I do it'll be like stumbling upon a time capsule.
thanks for sharing this with us! I used to pass notes like this all of the time, and have forgotted how to make them. I also used to be able to fold mine into an arrow.
Oh, this makes me so happy. My friends and I used to fold notes like that all the time. At least the one you have written down that isn't quite there yet. That one, and there was another one that had a pull-tab tucked into the corner. Ah, memories.
I enjoyed your last post that inspired this, but didn't think on it further. Then I clicked on the photos to read today's post and I realised, Hey! I like looking at people's handwritings too!
And I was surprised that your handwriting looked different than I thought it would. Good luck finding a diagram for how to fold that note. I can remember, but don't have the means to post the instructions right now. (does that make me a tease?)
That is exactly how we used to fold our notes in high school! I had forgotten how to do that fold and I tried in vain to re-create it. I better bookmark that link to the video tutorial in case I forget again.
My kids and I did something similar for valentines day except the folded out sheet we cut into the shape of a heart. I think I got the idea from marthastewart's website under valentine kids crafts. It was an easy last minute thing to do and we all wrote my husband special letters. I enjoy reading your blog, especially since like me you are in the trenches of kid raising, but still manage to be creative! Thanks for being an inspiration! If you have time, I'd love to invite you to check out my art journal - it's a collaboration with my family of our art adventures!

omg we used to fold our letters/notes all the time like this in school as kids. there were quiet a few folds we did... i cant remember all the types now, but this was the most common. wow thanks for the reminder! (^_^)v
That was totally the folding technique I used as a teenager too. I could probably take pictures if you really want to remember how to do it!

Oh my gosh! That takes me back! I wish I could help but I just don't remember, oh and yes the folding was the best part!

How cool is that? I'm going to try it.
Paper was so precious and postage so expensive that during the 1800's this was a necessity.

Ahhhh... note passing. We folded, refolded, all to find the coolest folds for our notes. I forgot all about this until I read your post!

Hi Amy,
I think your handwriting will show that you are a compulsive crafter. =)

Total flashback from junior high! I actually smelled the hallway for a second when I saw that. Okay, that might be weird.

How cool to post in handwriting. Very retro! Ah, the memories. With all the notes being passed how did we ever get through school?

I didn't know I needed to know how to letter fold until I checked in at your site today! Thanks - I'll have to see if my own 10 year old knows how.
