seriously.
Key Lime Bars. From this book.
The tart key lime was the perfect taste on the only sunny day we have had recently, about 10 days ago. These bars were also amazing because the whipped cream was barely sweetened. Really, they were so easy it was almost criminal. The only thing stopping me from making them more often is juicing 20 key limes.
-I have watched the first 3 episodes of Slings and Arrows and love it so much. I am so happy to have a new show to get into.
-This new header is inspired by my new favorite kids book, Sparkle and Spin: A Book About Words. Amazing.

Oh yum! I love key lime. I really need to make one, however the bar idea seems nice.
May I ask did you make the plate? If so can I ask what you used? I love the fancy pattern with the spray paint effect. And I need new "nice" dishes but don't want boring china.

Yummmmm...I had to stop myself from licking the screen. I've got to get this book!

That book is going to be the reason I wont wear a swimsuit this year! I love it too lol.

I hated juicing key limes until I started using pliers. Game On, Limes.

Hi! First off the key lime bars look so good! Also, I work for the company that put out Slings & Arrows on DVD! I'm so glad you are enjoying it. I'm actually the one that came up with the sound bytes on the menus and the chapter names. It's so weird for me to see my blogs and work mixed.

I LOVE Slings & Arrows! You are in for such a treat! Enjoy. . .
Posted by: Wendi | April 21, 2008 at 05:08 PM
I swore off juicing key limes last year after a killer key lime pie, but this might make me go back! Looks tasty! I might have to try the pliers, though...
Posted by: annie | April 21, 2008 at 05:20 PM
wow, those bars do look yummy, and they sound dangerous if they were that easy to make. Hmm
Posted by: Terri | April 21, 2008 at 05:20 PM
Wow - I go out of town for a few weeks and your blog is filled with fun! I've ordered the book you recommended and I'm seriously thinking of making some of those tops for myself - right after I make the key lime bars! Thanks!

Cute header!
I've had that book on my wishlist since I first saw it. That and Sticky, Chewy, Messy, Gooey...
They look sooooooo good!

Love the new header! I'm a key lime addict and will never forget the first time I tried one...I was ten and it totally blew me away...the scent more than anything. I like them in pies, seltzer water, shortbread...you name it. I'll be making those bars soon, though I've been experimenting with agave instead of sugar...we shall see. Hey, this is the longest comment I've ever left! Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi. I HATE juicing key limes too, but found the Pampered Chef citrus press (I'm thinking this is even easier than pliers!) and I love, love, love it. Now I'm juicing everything I can think of to put in that thing. I'd highly recommend you check it out...it's great! Thanks for the recipe rec. Can't wait to try it! I've gotta get that book!

An alternative to juicing key limes is to use Nellie & Joe's Key Lime juice. The recipe on the bottle makes a seriously good filling. I'm just saying...

I haven't seen Slings and Arrows yet, but Paul Gross is just so easy on the eyes, isn't he? [I almost said "dreamy" but then I realized this isn't 1955, and I'm not a teenager ;-) ] I just recently re-watched all of the episodes of Due South. I loved that show! We caught it in syndication at 1am, in the early days of our marriage. Ah, memories, LOL!

I keep hearing about Slings and Arrows from people who swear that I'll love it. Apparently my friends are under the impression that I really dig obscure Canadian comedy... I'll put it next in my Netflix que.

When I was in Mexico in November, the only thing I really wanted to get as a souvenir was a lime-press. My sister found one for me at a market for a couple of bucks. Now juicing limes is FUN! :D

I thought my hands were going to fall off when I juiced key limes. I love key lime anything and so I guess I'm going to have to get one of those lime presses.
Thanks for the links.

I have that book as well, but have never made anthing from it! I think I have some rare disease where I buy beautiful cookbooks but never make anything out of them! :) I feel so accomplished just leaving the bookstore with them, and that is as far as I get! But i might try those delish looking lemon bars... they might be worth breaking out the apron for!! :) Love your blog!!!

Slings and Arrows is so good. Season 2 is even better than the first. I know what you mean about the excitement of finding a whole season of a show to watch. We are half-way through the Tudors and I'm going to be so sad when I get to the end and have to find something else.
I love Key Lime everything and can't wait to try these squares. Yummm.
