This clock hardware made it home with me from the craft store months ago and had been haunting me, but I was ignoring it. I got all excited to make a clock and then forgot and then remembered again—and last weekend I finally made it.
I showed it to Pete and he said "Now we can say it's half-past soup." Awesome. I drew these little sketches for another project and then just placed them in a circle when I needed some numbers for the clock. There is no rhyme or reason to them—but now looking at it I see all these meanings in the images for each hour.
So I was thinking about including this artwork laid out like this and directions to make a clock in the new e-mailorder. Cool? It wouldn't be the main project just an extra paper project. It was so fun to make, addictive actually. How many clocks do we really need? I guess a few more.

yippee! is it wine o'clock?

i love your clock - so gosh darn cute!

that's awesome. I like making clocks. There's a craft store around here that sells unfinished wood clocks and they make GREAT decoupage projects. I'll have to just get some regular clock components and craft-lift the idea. ;)

It's like the Weasley's clock where you can check where anyone is at any given time!

LOVE IT!!! Except my scissors icon would have to be placed around 1 or 2 am. ;)

Love it! Are all the mailorders going to be e-mailorders now? That would be awesome--then everyone can be included.

I love this. It tells the time, but in a non-threatening way. I also like how soup time is 6:00 pm.

I had a clock-making phase back in college. I even had one with Aragorn as background. It's fun to use CDs with nice art, too. :D

Ooh, neat-o! It would be great to make one of these for my oh so dull bathroom or something! I'm not really sure why I would need a cloth in the bathroom, but why not!?

Half past soup is the funniest thing ever. Absolutely fantastic.

Oh my gosh! I love it!!!
We are working with my three year old on the concept of time, but we have almost all digital clocks and he confuses his numbers. So this would be AWESOME! I could say, "when the big hand gets to the sunshine, it's time for nap!!! :) I LOVE IT!!!!

Great loooking clock! For me it's time for..clouds?
Posted by: Nevis | May 02, 2008 at 10:14 AM
This clock rocks! I made a "butterfly" clock (wished for by my 4 year old) but it turned out pretty ugly actually. Something like this would have been cuter!
Posted by: kari | May 02, 2008 at 10:29 AM
Or you could say a quarter to toadstool! Really pretty clock :-)

Delurking to say that clock is so cool! I use to make crafty clocks ages ago and your clock makes me want to make them again. ANYWAY, I just love the sketches.

That is really cute!I added a clock kit and used wooden "buttons" in different colors, in place of the numbers,to a vintage cabinet that I have! I did it years ago,but I think you inspired me to post about it anyway!

the clock is way kool. someone sent me a clock movement and the backer board and directions and i never made it. i know where it is so maybe i will make it, i do not have a clock in my sewing room, or i could put it in the basement where my dyeing stuff is almost together. yipee :-)
Posted by: susan | May 02, 2008 at 06:10 PM
that's so cute! i've got hardware hanging around from the tootsie-pop clock I never got around to. his looks so much less tempting...in a more tempting sort of way :)

You know, that is a cool idea for a kid's room... my 4 year old is just learning to tell time.
Also, it cracks me up that you only have the number 3 on there... that 3 is the time both my kids would wake up! So, you see a 3, I see waaaahhhhH!
Love it!
