I am getting closer to finishing eMailorder #11 (a bookmaking project that has 14 recipes for Potions and Concoctions of the healthy, medicinal, and beauty variety) and it's taking me forever. I think you all will really like it. It comes with a cheat-sheet and labels to cut out and use.
As I was working on this, I realized that I am almost 2 years into not using shampoo or conditioner (all about this in the upcoming eMailorder #11) and the addition of this Mason Pearson Hairbrush, which I got for my birthday last year, has been simply amazing. I am almost in tears thinking how sad it was I didn't have one as a girl. I had crazy-long hair and it was always in snarls and was a total mess. This brush would have saved me so much pain. I love this brush for my own hair, but for the girls,—it is nothing short of a miracle. They call it The Magic Brush. I know they are expensive, but really, I just can't believe I was without one before now.
- The Black and White aprons are due on Monday over at Tie One On so you still have time!
- Has anyone made this Crack Pie? I just read about it--a fancy Chess Pie that is all the rage and commands mind boggling prices. I can't tell if it sounds great or totally gross, but someone has to make it—I know that.
- In my Homemade Box Cake research I made the Restaurant Eve's Cake. It calls for melted butter instead of oil. It was outstanding in flavor (I made a 1/2 batch and used one pan with a simple chocolate frosting) but it didn't rise at all. Like, if it had been cupcakes I would have almost cried. I am going back to that original one I linked to, but with a different oil than I used before.
