I try to see a few movies in the theater during the holidays, which feels crazy and indulgent now with the kids. Mom (Grammie) and I saw The King's Speech the day after Christmas and loved it. It was so well done.
Pete and I saw True Grit, and I also loved it and was very inspired by the costumes (I have been on a Deadwood kick for a bit) which were so lovely and stoic, even if Mattie's braids stay unbelievably tidy during all the overnight camping, vigorous horse rides, and gunfire.
I haven't seen Black Swan yet. I'm not sure I'm going to see it in the theater. Too much? I'm a wuss. I might only be able to hang with it on a small screen.
For books, I am almost done with The Thirteenth Tale: A Novel, which has been the perfect escape book for me these last 2 weeks in that fabulous Brontë/gothic mystery way. A hidden twin! A fire! Ghosts!
