A few weeks ago we were at the coast and I took the new Everday Food summer issue. Do you know the one I mean? It's a big one. Like a full-sized magazine, which threw me off. I love the small format, but it was fun seeing this big size. I made a salad from it, shown above—and some cookies, the black bottom short bread ones, that are also in the magazine. They both were awesome and were perfect to make at the beach because they don't require a ton of special ingredients or speciality items. You can see I did hard cook the eggs longer than they did. My family doesn't go for the soft-style hard cooked eggs.
I'm not going to talk about the weather here. I know the rest of the country is way too hot, so I just will say we on par with Alaska, or slightly cooler, and leave it at that. We saw Fleet Foxes last weekend, outside, and it was a great show. And I am getting older. Outdoors shows are very different than they were in the 90s. Everyone was holding up and iphone and I saw someone in the crowd jammin' hard to the music playing airflute. Granted, there was a real flute playing during the song, but still. This would have never happened in 1996.
