I was able to sew the nightgowns out of the sheet sets over the last two weeks. I have made so many nightgowns now, I have it down. They like 3/4 sleeves or sleeveless in the summer, and long sleeves (with elastic at the cuffs) for winter. These washed up all nice and fluffy—I had no idea what a huge hit the matching set would be. They LOVE to be invisible in their beds with the bottom sheet, nightgown and pillowcase. So easy because all I had to sew was the gowns. Sadie's is not shown. It's a lovely lavender plaid. It also, at this moment, has a huge toothpaste blob on the front. After looking at the newest Garnet Hill Kids, where I get a ton of sewing/craft ideas, I gloated a bit when I saw the prices of their cotton flannel nightgowns, and sheet sets. I saved a bundle getting these sheet sets at Target.
Okay, the Advent calendar is done! I am so happy I made time for this project. I will show it very soon. We are off to get the tree today and finish watching Auntie Mame (instant on netflix!), which we love so much—Pete and I both grew up watching it and it formed much of our humor.
I am about to start a new knitting project. I am so happy I have admitted I just need to work on small projects, and not go for the big ones. This is a huge relief. I finished the legwarmers last month, then started and finished a little gift for a friend (a surprise which I can show later), and I am now looking to start this little project which I love for its detailed silliness.
