I was thinking about sewing nightgowns for the girls, I made some last year, and while the matching robes and sets for their dolls was sweet—it was a bit over the top for me to duplicate this year. So, I was planning on sewing a winter print flannel nightgown and matching pillowcase. And then I saw in the newspaper an ad for a flannel sheet set* at Target, and a lightbulb went off. The girls don't use flat sheets, so I can make the nightgowns out of the flat sheet and then they would have a pillowcase and fitted bedsheets to match. Thrilling. So, I got three different sets and have prewashed everything and am ready to go. I'm 99% sure I can squeak a nightgown with long sleeves for Sadie out of a twin flat sheet. We shall see. They like them long. I am using Simplicity 9292, which appears to be out of print, but there are so many nightgown patterns out there.
other bits:
- The BUST DIY Guide to Life book signing event is at Powells this saturday, for all you local people— it should be fun.
- I finished knitting my legwarmers. I am so happy about this. It's been very cathartic to finish a knitting project. I will show them soon.
- I made this cauliflower dish, (and added root vegetables) and it was so good. The addition of the pomegranate seeds was really lovely.
*edit-
so, I accidentally linked the flannel sheets to a St. Vincent concert on NPR I was streaming today, but you know, the Target site is down, so I'm just leaving the music link up.
