I knit this hat a while ago and it's been my go-to hat since then. Here's all the info on Ravelry. I am sad to say I have needed it a lot lately. It's just not very warm or sunny here right now. I am big hat pinner. I like to wear them far back and then clip them, either with bobby pins or little clip barrettes, to keep them from falling off. Then I can still show a little hair up top. I keep the clips/pins on all my hats to avoid the cursing hair accessories while running out the door search. Knitting wise, I am almost done with a scarf. My one sock (really, an anklet at this point) is hibernating. I needed a break, but I am sure glad I took that class.
Random bits-
- I am looking into making soy and or beeswax candles. This project has been requested by the girls. So that is giving me a bit to research. Molds, wicks, and how to not cover everything in the kitchen with wax. Have any of you made these? I'm thinking little glass jars and simple paper molds.
- I am excited to see this documentary about a comics convention, Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope. I might wait for netflix, documentaries get there so fast.
- I am switching to brown liquid eyeliner from black. I was using brown, and then used black again, and am now back to brown. And I am trying not to use powder at all, just the liquid foundation. I was told, by a magazine with lots of bright and colorful pictures, that these changes are helpful in achieving a more youthful appearance. Not being old helps with that, too.
- I am finding this Marlowe Dress very interesting. The photo on the model is the one to look at. I'd make it without the patch pockets and reduce the skirt fullness, so it's more 1920s elegant. It's such a cool combination of a dress/apron style.
