After we got back from Hawaii I was able to confidently steek this sweater. Being away from it for a week gave me more strength, and after finding the perfect metal zipper at the fabric store, I cut the swear open. I did this all with my sewing machine—I sewed two lines down the front, about 1/4" apart, cut up the middle in-between them, sewed in the zipper on my machine, and then sewed again on the front, on either side of the zipper, securing the tape down on the insides and covering the raw edges. I'm so happy with how this turned out! This sweater is tight, kind of a va-va-voom sweater, which is super cute, but makes it pretty dang itchy. I will definitely knit a larger size next time.
Now I am on a knitting kick, trying a small project with cables (first time for me) and I just snatched up this beautiful kit from Spincycle Yarns at For Yarn's Sake during the Rose City Yarn Crawl, which is always fun, and ends today!
Unrelated, I am sure liking the second season of Mozart in the Jungle. I'm going slow because I don't want it to end.
