I made these cinnamon rolls the other week using no yeast but a biscuit dough. They were fine, they tasted good, but they weren't really cinnamon rolls to me. The texture is was so different. I I think I will stick with the yeasted dough. But they were fun and quick to make. I used an old recipe from a cookbook no longer in print, but it's almost identical to the one here. Continuing my quest for a last minute cinnamon roll, I also made cinnamon rolls from trade joe's pizza dough a week later and they were delicious! And weren't nearly so rich and they texture was wonderful.
