I knitted a head warmer thingy with cables! This is very exciting. I messed up quite a bit but kept going anyway, realizing what I did wrong and not doing it again. I just turn that crazy part underneath when I wear it. it's a bit off-season for much wear, but not this morning—it's actually pretty cold right now.
Knitting is funny. When I go at is side-ways it works out so much better for me. Meaning, when I'm not focused on it 100% as a "goal" or my main craft at the moment. I have been wanting to try cables for so long and was too caught up in finding the right pattern, yarn, and details. There were too many choices, I kind of froze up. This time, I just grabbed some yarn from my stash, printed out the first pattern I found on Ravelry, and went for it. Done. It was like this with the my Icelandic sweater, too. The pattern and yarn were already chosen, and for once I actually knit it that way, so I could just work on the technique. Really fun and liberating.
- I have this cookbook on hold from the library and I think it will be a long wait. But I love the cover and am very excited to see it.
- I just finished reading this very funny comic, Step Aside, Pops: A Hark! A Vagrant Collection that we all love (not maybe suitable for all ages) it's silly and absurd comics with historical figures and is totally our sense of humor.
- I just bought these shoes at one of my favorite local shoe shops Switch, and love them so much. FLY London works for me in the best way. This is my second pair and they are so comfortable. I can't emphasis the comfort enough. I am always looking for cool shoes that don't hurt, because I just can't do it anymore. So happy.
