march theme-apron for your doll or stuffed animal

Vprrh172

I have purely selfish motives for this month's theme. After seeing the aprons for this paper dolly here, and giving Mandy to Sadie last week, it is time to make aprons for the dolls in our house.

Any stuffed creatures you have around the house are fair game too, so please don't feel limited to dolls. And the challenge here is to make an apron for an existing doll or animal, you don't have to make the doll or animal too, just the apron for one, dig? Have fun, and hooray for small quick projects!

Both these images are form this great cloth doll site, Cloth Doll Supply, they have wonderful patterns, tips, and supplies and I love just looking around here. Great copies of vintage patterns for all sorts of soft things. And the Mapron gallery is up!! check it out!

OK! Well it's finally time to start this Tie One On business. I have too many creatures covered in cookie dough around here. Off we go!

This is a great idea! Do I need to 'join' this or can I just make one and tie it on and send in my pic to your site? I'm new to all of this and working on a soon-to-be-up-and-running blog.

hi there-
just send me the jpeg when you are done and I will but it in the gallery at the end of the month. just include a link (you don't need a blog) and/or any info you want me to add-
thanks!

Is a pinafore considered an apron? I have an idea for a pinafore sort of dress for a little softie I'm making.

Can I still play? :)

As you are one of those person who inspire me on a regular basis, I thought of you when posting today. I started a Flickr Group for posting Vintage Children's Craft Books and projects and thought you might get a kick out of the first project scans I posted. You can check out the kid's Make an apron project from the booklet, The Lucky Sew-it-yourself Book at http://riarug.blogspot.com/2006/03/new-chapter-so-to-say.html the pages from the apron project are available at http://www.flickr.com/groups/39806839@N00/

Love the blog, Amy. I've been meaning to have a go at Tie One On and never quite got around to it, although this month I decided there was no excuse, given the size of the finished project! I finally did it! Only for some reason I can't email you the proof - it just keeps bouncing right back at me. Dolly now has his own apron, and he's taking a break from carving little faces into broccoli florets in a desperate attempt to get my son to eat them. Here's the link to the pics on my blog as I can't think of another way to do it (I'm not on Flikr): http://piksi.typepad.com/piksi/2006/03/big_cook_little.html

Hi Amy - I've tried sending an email from three different accounts now, and it keeps getting bounced back. Here's the link to my apron and info: http://craftymcgee.typepad.com/crafty_mcgee/2006/03/poor_tippi.html
