Tie One On May/June-The Pocket!

simplicity 1756

Okay, I am almost done with the Rick-Rack gallery, and I think it might be a record turn out! Amazing! the Rick-Rack love is abundant and so awesome, you all will freak out. Thank you so much for making this all so fun.

So, the May/June theme is The Pocket! My favorite part of the apron by far, the pocket, to me, is that special detail that i obsess over. I have had a rule for myself in the past-that making the pocket should take the same time as the rest of the apron. Insane? Probably. But so much fun. Please look at the flickr vintage apron pattern group and the vintage apron group for incredible apron pocket inspiration. Thanks to Totally Crunchy for this great addition to the vintage apron pattern group, this image is from her collection-and dig those pockets! I'm a sucker for big fruit.

I will post 2 photos for this round, one of the apron and one with the pocket detail. For pocket fun-think cross-stitch, embroidery, mixed media, different fabrics, trims, pleats, elastic. . whatever makes you happy, just think about a special pocket for this apron submission.

Please send me the jpeg by the end of June, with a blog link (or not) and a description, if you want one. Have fun and thank you apron lovers!
