Tie One On-July/Aug Theme-Local Pride!!

Or
The theme for July/August is Local Pride. Once again, this is selfish because I have always wanted a tea towel of the state of Oregon and have never found a vintage one. With all the county fairs going on during the summer I always get all into Oregon stuff, being born and raised here and all. These images here are reproductions (or they might even be newish designs, who knows) and I really want them. They would look way cute as an apron. (I sound like I am 14 in this post, sorry for the baby brain.) I found this one below here, and this one above here-it looks like there are tea towels for every state, but please don't feel obligated to use tea-towels, or anything even like this.

The Local Pride theme can be for your city, town, province, state, in any form you want. The apron doesn't have to be theme-y at all. Maybe just use the colors you see in your town, or an applique that seems regional to you. Feel free to do whatever--over the top, understated, or somewhere in-between. A simple fabric that reminds you of where you live would be great too. There's one out there that's woodgrain, that I think would also be a great Oregon themed apron. Also, if you would like a pattern to work from check out the apron pattern links I have added here on the sidebar (There are some in my book too, I'm just sayin'.) Special thanks to Pete, who came up with this fine theme.

Please send along your submission jpegs by September 1st, with the whereabouts of your Local Pride, and have fun! The gallery for The Pocket will be up soon.
