what is this about?

make aprons to show and tell! every few months there is a different theme. you make the apron, e-mail me the photo (a jpeg) with your info (like a blog link), and then I will add it to the gallery at the end of the month. sound fun? yup!: please submit newly created aprons. not purchased or existing vintage ones.

Okay, so the random number generator has chosen #35—Leah, so please e-mail your mailing address to get the free book—woo-hoo! On that note, I am going to give away a new craft book every time I post a new gallery (you have to submit an apron to be included in the random number generator drawing.) Sometimes I get early copies of craft books direct from the publishers—so this is a perfect little way to say thank you to everyone who goes to the effort of making an apron.

Just a few business items-

This was a huge turn out, so I am sure there are mistakes, broken links, omissions, and typos on my part. Please take nothing personally and e-mail me for any reason, okay? I will happily make any changes (hopefully in a timely fashion.)
When I get this many aprons (thank you!!) I try to limit the number of photos I show to one per submission, unless it seems imperative I show more. If you have more detail shots on your blog, just give me the link.
You don't need a blog to send in a photo, just so you know.
I can't list your etsy shop in the flickr gallery, but will happily list your shop on the Apron Sellers list over here on the left, just let me know. (These are flickr rules, FYI.)

I always get a little emotional (in a good way) when I put together these galleries. I was going through the old apron galleries and did some math. Since Tie On One has started there has been 22 themes and you all have made 975 individual aprons. Amazing! I started this project in part because I was worried no new aprons would be floating out there to collect or pass down in the next 50 years or so. I think we are replenishing the world apron stash very well, indeed.

To celebrate the summer (apologies to my Australian and New Zealand friends) the new theme is Pie Makin' Apron. This is quite open-ended. You pretty much can make any type of apron for this, but here's the catch—you also have to submit your favorite pie recipe. And, it's not mandatory, but including a pie in the photo you submit would be super cute, too. I have done a similar theme before with my Apron and Recipe Theme and it was great. There were so many wonderful recipes submitted—I still use some of them regularly.

So, to re-cap, what you need to send me is:

photo of your handmade apron (a jpeg, with your blog link if you have one and info about your apron, if you wish.)
a recipe of your favorite pie (this can just be typed in the e-mail you send me with the jpeg.)

I will put the recipes in the gallery with the photo of your apron, just like I did with the Apron and Recipe theme. You have 2 months for this—the jpegs need to be sent to me by July 1st.

Cool! I am super excited. And please feel free to send weird pie recipes. I love them, the weirder the better. Not gross, but you know what I mean. You can get inspired by pie recipes online. I really like reading all these types. Crazy!

I am madly working on the gallery for this last theme, the No $$ Apron and they look great! I will try to get it finished this weekend and then will announce the lucky winner of the book below. Thanks so much you all! I can't wait for you to see all the awesome submissions.
