It's up and it was really not so bad, looking back on it. It says "hugs & kisses" which gives me 11 hearts, a perfect amount to span this opening. I wanted it to say something obscene and see if anyone would even notice, but I have been needing to clean up the language around here, so spelling it out would be "inappropriate", but very funny, I think.
Here's a close up. I saved myself a huge headache and punched only one hole, did an eyelet and then a small jump ring (sounds insane but both were purchased and took all of 5 minutes) and then tied a knot in the cord around the jump ring so these don't slide around causing swearing every year. I didn't come up with this, but was copying these other hearts so closely that I am really happy I noticed this detail. This may be it for the Valentine's Day decor. I want to do a bulls-eye wreath type item for a door in black, white, and red with an arrow or something, but I just don't know if I can face more glitter.
Some things that I have been meaning to mention:
*kelly, of buzzville, has a new shop with some very sweet pillows (and no doubt other wonderful creations coming soon) I especially love this one, and the title is so sweet, and I sure can't get enough of red ticking and polka-dots.
*kraf-o-la has a great interview with the recent b-day girl, Hillary Lang, an intriguing look into her crazy crafty mind! This is part of a series with some really talented artists. I love reading what these people are into and what makes them tick. (And I'm in there too, and so flattered to be in such good company.)
*this ridiculously amazing shot over at posie gets cozy is making me what to drive to her house, break down the door down and steal her cupcakes, beautiful cake-stand, and photo styling abilities. happy b-day to you too, alicia.
*the stick family is blowing my mind over here. I keep looking at the set in flickr, so incredibly amazing. I realize I could have an entire blog just gushing about the small object and what a genius she is. I know I'm not alone here, but I just can't say it enough, so there.
