I made shamrock cookies this weekend from the cooky book. I looked (and looked and looked) for a shamrock cookie cutter and found none. I didn't actually go to where they would have one, you know, like a kitchen shop or the decorate shop. Too far and too crazy with the girls. So I made them using the actual instructions in the cooky book. Roll the balls, press them flat, and make the stem. They are a bit bulbous, looking at them now. They actually look almost gross. But, I am happy to say they are tasty as all get out (sugar cookie with a hint of peppermint flavoring) They are really light green, which I think adds to the almost gross factor. I think at a certain point if you are going to color something, you just need to go for it. Just make it green, you know? You can see how nicely they are shaped in the book there, and how mine don't look that way-but there's only one left, so there you go.
The sun came out today and I am thrilled. I really needed this Monday to be sunny. Not too much else to report. I screwed up 2 mini oven mitts to match the aprons, they are now in the trash and I am getting mailorder together to try and sell the last week of this month. . .next on my list is this bunny, cause dang, how cute is that?!
**update** not sure what I was smokin'-why didn't I think of the heart shaped cookie cutters or spritz? (such good tips in the comments) I have both! hmm-might have to try again, and here's the link to get that sock book from last week-thanks mari!
