I put a little fancy on this cardigan back in late summer. It was just a simple cotton cardigan, about a year old and I had worn it so much—it was tired and sad. I had some stretch lace on hand from the many pairs of undies I had been making and sewed this trim on, a' la Anthro-style. The lace is nice and soft and easy to manipulate. I used free-motion stitch for this (I have a bit on this in my newest book) and that allowed me to get all free-style with the placement and design, which I just formed as I stitched. It's been through the wash many times since then and has held up great. I meant to switch out the buttons, but haven't done that yet. Dressing up cardigans has got to be my favorite way of altering old clothes. It's so easy and thrilling.

- This J.crew skirt is just begging to be copied. It's insane how easy it would be. I'm not sure if I would wear it this short, however. I saw it in the catalog and in the shop and was stunned by what they were charging for the simplicity of this. Wide elastic waistband!? I sometimes wonder if I'm going to be asked to leave a store when I start turning clothes inside out, but it hasn't happen yet. I try to play it cool and not embarrass whomever I am shopping with.
- Here's what I want to do with the extra homemade meyer lemon curd I have. It might actually warrant making a new batch.
- Super cute button cookies (with a lovely photo tutorial) right here, via the small object, of course.
