I have had the distinct pleasure of perusing the newest book by Wendy Mullin, Built by Wendy Coats and Jackets: The Sew U Guide to Making Outerwear Easy right before the holidays. I received an advance review copy. We share the same publisher, Potter Craft. It's coming out at the end of February, but you can pre-order it now. I am a huge fan of Wendy's previous books and while the fashion designs might not be exactly what I would wear, her sewing knowledge is spot on. This is an ambitious book, and better suited for intermediate/advanced sewers.
There are 3 basic patterns in this book, similar to her last books, with many variations included.
I'm going to do a much more thorough review when this book is available for sale. I am 90% done with a jacket from a basic pattern from this book, so I will have much to report. Stay tuned!
Unrelated, I was thrilled to see this Iron and Wine concert from NPR. So very cool. My middle child has always been obsessed with beards, hence her Tomen love. She wants to make a Sam Beam doll. (Warning, there are swear words in some of these songs, in case small people are listening.)
