I have been working on this project for about 4 months now. Over the summer I wanted to make each daughter a birthchart with information about themselves—birthstone, astrological sign, birth flower, etc. because I was fascinated with this as a girl, and still am. The girls kept asking me what their birth flower was, or their sign, or birthstone, and I kept having to look it up. So, I starting drawing little pictures, and drawing, and drawing, and drawing and then compiled each chart for them and presented it framed as a birthday gift. They were thrilled. Then my brother received one, and my husband, and at this point I realized I loved creating these. Hand-lettering each name, composing all the little sketches, seeing the reaction to the finished piece—it's magical. It satisfies both my love of drawing and hand lettering and my kooky desire to be a fortuneteller, mystical/magicial-type artist.
I am thrilled to be able to offer these for sale! Each piece is completely unique—based on your name, and date of birth. I hand-letter your name and date of birth, and then compile your chart which is comprised entirely of hand-drawn images, words, and interpretations by me. Then the chart is digitally reproduced and printed out just for you on 8 1/2" x 11" heavyweight art paper. The chart includes:
- astrological sign
- birthstone
- life path number (numerology take from your birthday)
- chinese zodiac
- birth flower
- element (taken from astrological sign)
- native american zodiac animal
- native americal plant
- lucky number
Each item also has a one-word meaning associated with that image (except the lucky number.) I decided to make these traits positive or neutral. Of course, all signs have shadow sides and negative traits, but no one wants to have "slightly delusion arsonist" written on their custom birthchart. This also makes this a much friendlier gift for children and family.
These are printed on my favorite luscious highly textured paper. This is a black and white piece and the black ink on the textured paper is outstanding. Really. It's hard to even describe. They are $65 each (the frame is not included) and there is even more information about the beautiful paper and ink over here.
I have been really blown away by the reaction I have had by the people I have given them to. I hope you enjoy them!
