Here it is and it is a mighty tome. It's HUGE—and so jam packed with wonderful ideas, it's hard to believe. It's The Bust DIY Guide to Life: Making Your Way Through Every Day, by Debbie Stoller and Laurie Henzel.
I am so proud to have a couple projects in this book, like this one here—how to take a band t-shirt and make it into cute underwear. This book isn't just sewing projects, either. There's cooking, gardening, fashion, hair/make-up, you name it. Can I just copy a blurb I read online about it? Because it says it all:
"more than 250 of the best DIY and craft projects from its 15-year history. Organized by category—beauty and health, fashion, food and entertaining, career, finance, travel, and sex—and written in BUST’s trademark brazen and witty style, this quintessential DIY encyclopedia from the quintessential DIY magazine is eclectic, empowering, hilarious, and downright practical, truly capturing the spirit of women today."
And here's my deodorant recipe.
I love this hair style so much.
There's an interesting behind-the-scenes making of this book on the publisher site for those of you who are craft book/publishing nerds and find the process fascinating, like myself.
For all you local folk (they have online sales, too) Powell's has this book at a discounted price right now and there's an upcoming booksigning event November 5th. You can pre-order a signed copy, too. Here's a list of the upcoming book tour, go see Debbie and Laurie in person!!
Thanks for making such a great magazine for 15 years, Ladies!
