My mother-in-law served us this delicious Cranberry Apple cake recently and we ate an alarming amount very fast. Who knew my family liked cranberries so much? I didn't. I found the recipe online and made it again, shown here. 12 oz of cranberries is a lot, so the cake is moist, more like a steamed pudding. It would work well with less cranberries if you wanted it to be more cake than berries, right now it's more berries than cake. I made no changes other than baking it longer, almost 10 minutes, I'd say.
I'm busy finishing up a Halloween costume and trying to find a new book to read. I have about 3 started and nothing is grabbing me. I'd like to start another reading project like I did last year, with the women comedian memoirs, but I haven't thought about it enough to formalize a theme yet. And speaking about books, I was alerted awhile back that Greensleeves has been reprinted! This is the book being mailed to readers right now because it was out of print when I stared this mail/book club project. I hope that means more people can read this lovely, odd, wonderful book now that it's available.
Meal Planning: Already into week 3 of this. I went down a rabbit hole of menu planning printables and stopped after about an hour and just printed the best one for me and moved on, because that's a whole thing. I do like having a pretty list to look at. I was tempted to make my own, I still might, but need to get past Halloween and a birthday first.
