I was working with polymer clay last night and made these trinket dishes out of scrap clay. We had quite a few balls of mashed clay, all sorts of colors, from our charm making. I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. So, I just marbled it, added dots of color with clean clay, rolled it out, and made the dishes using this tutorial. I added gold nail polish on the rim and accents on the inside. Mine is a bit sandy (Pixie Dust made by Zoya) so it really pops and gives a wonderful opaque gold finish. I also used a clear top coat, because I like that look. I love how these turned out and l love even more how much old clay I used up that I didn't know what I was going to do with. The hedgehogs I had to make after seeing them in this shop (she no longer has them but they were adorable), because come on. I want to make a checkers set now with hedgehogs and some other animal.
Unrelated, we have been enjoying the videos over at TED-ed. We just saw this about the physics of ballet that was really good.
