I started and finished this in August when we were on vacation. I'm starting to amass a stack of small stitched items. I used to always finish them as I go, in either hoops as wall pieces, or broaches, or something—but lately I've just been stitching and then putting them in a box. I pull them all out at once, usually on a Sunday with tea and a good podcast, and see what they will become.
Lydia and I have been learning about the Tudors. I have only one homeschooler at home now—the older two are at the wonderful local performing arts school in 7th and 9th grade. Huge changes around here. It's been good so far, and teaching just one child at a time is new for me, and just heavenly. The older girls wanted to try school, this the the second year for my 7th grader and Sadie just started high school. They are the best students, so serious and on top of it. Their backpacks are ridiculously heavy. What's up with that? And no lockers. Crazy.
For the Tudors, Liddy and I have found so many great resources, this book, this irreverent book, this series on you tube, (sort of cheesy but good) and also this video (so interesting!!) on you tube. I'd love for her to see Elizabeth, the Movie, but it's not right for her age. We want to make a Tudor dollhouse.
