Happy 2006!!
Every new year I go through a major reorganizing/recycling fit. So,to celebrate this new year and reuse some of what we might throw out, I thought it would be nice to make an apron from an old garment. The challenge here you have to sew your apron out of old clothes. (as opposed to old textiles, like tablecloths, sheets, etc) not surprisingly, there are some of you who have already done this quite recently, wrecking my theme (crafty guru, hillary) but there are so many possibilities that I think this will be loads of fun even if you clever crafters have beat me to it. So, shirts, skirts, pants, you name it. Go through your closet (or another family member's?)and have fun!** you can use any clothes, from vintage to old navy.
I realize the above photo doesn't reflect this theme, but it is so festive and swank- I thought it was a perfect new year apron. It's from kluckingbear's flickr set, quite lovely.
the new gallery for November/December will be up very soon. . .
