what is this about?

make aprons to show and tell! every few months there is a different theme. you make the apron, e-mail me the photo (a jpeg) with your info (like a blog link), and then I will add it to the gallery at the end of the month. sound fun? yup!: please submit newly created aprons. not purchased or existing vintage ones.

New Theme for Tie One On—Storybook Apron

This month's theme is to use an apron design inspired from a storybook. I know this is similar to the Alice theme, but I thought it would be fun. There is a treasure trove of apron images in children's books. I am always sketching, taking notes, and staring at the lovely apron designs in vintage and new children's stories. They are so inspiring!

One of my all time favorite apron/smock designs is from this book right here, Flicka, Ricka, Dicka Bake a Cake and there are more aprons in this series of books as well, on both the adults and the kids. Really lovely.
