Hello apron makers!
When I fIrst started this project back in 2005 I was hoping it would get people sewing. I collected vintage aprons for years and was worried there would be none left for future collectors—they would fall out of fashion, and would become a relic. I wanted people to sew them. I also thought they would be the perfect first sewing project. They are easy to make and can be in any style from frilly and fluffy to minimal and utilitarian.
So, Tie One On was started and this project has been close to my heart for so many years. There have been over 1000 aprons sewn, by you, from around the world. Never in a million years did I think it would produce so much apron love and so much enthusiasm and get so many people sewing.
It's been over a year since the last theme, and I think it's time for this project to take a rest. It seems like a natural time. I realize it's been on hiatus for a year, so now I am making it more formal. It took me a year to feel it was really time to give it closure and end it. Sniff.
You can visit all the aprons and see all the themes from 2005-2012. Thank you all so much for being a part of this! I plan to keep this up for viewing as long as the internet allows, so visit whenever you like.
