succuming to the folk
Oh, that Martha. This is all from K-mart (You devil, Hillary.) Gads. I usually only buy after Christmas, 1/2 off, but the folksy splendor was to good this year.

I wanted this tree skirt too, but we have a nice one I made years ago and I decided to stay sane. But if it goes 1/2 off--that sucker is mine. Wait, is this even a tree skirt?? Now I don't even know. Well, I like it, whatever it is. This is what happens when I save images without naming them. It's a placemat. I am awesome!
And, speaking of holiday freak-outs, this site is making me crazy!! Talk about folksy love. I have started a holiday penny rug just to deal with my dreams about the images from this shop.

That is a placemat ! hehe

did the bottlebrush trees come from Kmart?

They actually make it in a tree skirt too -- I bought that exact one last week. I couldn't resist the Scandinavian goodness. Luckily our Kmart already had everything 25%off -- yipee!

I, too, am helpless against the power of the folk art goodness. Who could resist?

Oh my! I am headed to Kmart after nap time... these are too cute!

We don't have K-Mart in Texas anymore, but I went to the website and discovered that they actually DO have a matching tree skirt...

I'd never heard of penny rugs before. I just googled them--now I can't wait to make one!

Ack! What have you done? I cannot resist Scandinavian Christmas. I... am... weak... must... move... away... from... computer....
I have been oggling(sp) those Christmas elf/gnome advent calenders for weeks now. sigh.

hee! I had to pass on a lot of that stuff because I couldn't find ones that were nicely made without glue globs, etc. I was so happy I found at least 1 cuckoo clock that was in nice shape.
I had a little freak out over the advent ornament set at that fjorn site but sobered up fast when I emailed them and realized the cool wooden display box wasn't included in the $100+ price tag.
ok, back to cleaning the house for that holiday-before-christmas ;)

Holy holidays, you are rocking my world this week (not to mention emptying my wallet). I keep justifying it by saying I'll balance the buying by making the Santa Lucia dolls that you linked to. I have to admit that I have been a little "Bah Humbug" about Christmas the past few years, but this season I am excited about it as my seven year-old self used to be. Thank you.

Well, it should be a tree skirt!

Dang. I went to k-mart last weekend to look at this stuff and much of it was chipped. I really wanted one of the big bells.
I guess I'll have to go back after Thanksgiving.

Oh man! I love that stuff! All of it...the Martha/Kmart and especially the Scandanavian. Inspirational as well as wallet-emptying!
Thanks for the heads up. :)

I checked out the Martha Stewart Xmas goodies last week when I was shopping in the States with my kids. I would never had set foot in Kmart if it weren't for Hilary and yourself mentioning the great MS Xmas decor there. I showed very uncharacteristic restraint and didn't buy a thing! Thanks too for mentioning the Fjorn site in your blog...I love everything! Its also good inspiration for a dollhouse my kids and I are currently renovating Scandivian style (at least that's my vision!)

Made a special trip to uh...run errands...without the kids last weekend. Ulterior motive: Kmart to see the MS XMAS stuff. Unfortunately, the one thing I reallllllly wanted were the cuckoo clocks, and alas, they were sold out. Came home with two rolls of foksy wrapping paper as a consolation prize.

Amnazing decoration items, I wish I could get hold of them over here in the UK! Just the sort of things I love, great find!

Oh my gawd...that totally made my day. I don't feel like such an idiot myself now when I do things like that. Ain't motherhood grand?
